I Had Every Right To...

"Weak people get revenge, strong people  forgive, and intelligent people ignore." ~Albert Einstein "      Do these sound familiar?           "Did you get your license over the phone?"          "So (sarcastically), great use of your turn signal"          "Hey go ahead and take your half out of the middle."          "*#!?*" I know - I've never heard/said them either (wink wink).  We may have every right to question people's driving abilities because it can be incredibly dangerous.  We carry precious cargo in our cars with our family.  If people are in a hurry they should leave early and plan on traffic.  And weather (as we all know living in Denver) can add scarier dynamics so people should just slow down. But what if someone is distracted because they just got bad news or experienced a life-altering event?  What if their boss or spo...

A Doggy Bag Please?

"I wonder maybe if our Lord does not suffer more from our indifference than He did from the crucifixion."  ~ Fulton JJ. Sheen, Bishop of Rochester  It's Easter week and ham is served in many Christian homes across America for Easter dinner.  But what to do with all that leftover ham?  The grossest sounding recipe I've seen so far (and my apologies to the chef because in all fairness I did not make this recipe to see how good it was) is leftover ham tacos with salsa.  If ever there was a cross-cultural mishap in my mind.   Are you in the habit of taking your leftovers home from a restaurant?  Somehow, they are never quite as good as the original meal.  And the French have traditionally turned their nose down at doggy bags and consider it a huge insult to ask for one.  Why would you not just enjoy the food at the  meal?  The ingredients are the freshest and at their peak intended flavor combination, designed to offer you t...

Now That's My Cup of Tea

.A. A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh "I don't feel very much like Pooh today," said Pooh.  "There, there," said Piglet.  "I'll bring you tea and honey until you do." ~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh   What's your go-to when you're down and out?  When you're feeling overwhelmed with some situation, or your job?  When you can't take any more of the bad news, the politics, the natural catastrophes, the hatred?  Do you try to comfort with food? Zoning out with TV? Scrolling on social media?  It seems like the first thing we do is to isolate ourselves in some way, and fill our minds (and sometimes stomachs) with worldly things.  It kind of keeps the depression at bay.  For a little while.   But experts say many experience depression in their lifetime, and here are some of their recommendations to combat these depressing feelings-           🠊 listening to music           🠊  ...
